Get further understanding of our project.
As our given project is to “Provide universal and affordable access to the internet”, the first thing we do was to produce a mindmap for this general issue.
Each member of our group did personal brainstorm using this tool and created our own mindmap, from these mindmaps like the one below, we tried to come up with some initial ideas about how to solve this issue, and we recommend you to look through this map which can help you to fully understand why we want to start this project – “Superouter” – for the world.
After group discussions, we came up with several ideas about providing universal and affordable internet access, and finally with help of Professor Charly, we decided to build “Super router”, a hotspot specially designed for least developed countries (LDC). Below is the link of detailed presentation of our “Superouter”.
After that, as building “Superouter” will need a large cost that we can not afford all by ourselves, we decided to make a charity application to raise money, here is the link of our initial design which are simple layouts without colors except black and white, but it can really show the main structure of our application.
Next, after other several discussions, we modified our initial wireframe with suggestions from Charly and other mates, and we built mockups of “Superouter” using Figma. These mockups are like real applications which can fully show our ideas and concepts.
Then we started end-user test of “Superouter” with mockup. In fact, we did get many useful feedbacks from our tests, and after each round of test, we did some modifications to develop our design and improve both UI and UX. During launch period which will be the first year, we will focus on one or several the least developed countries with help from YOU and other partners, at the same time, trying to further develop our product and service and also to explore other potential needs.
As for the future, never forget our mission is to "Provide universal and affordable access to the internet", "Superouter" will, step by step, be accessible to all who need it!
